A breezy day with showers from late morning. 4 Willow Warblers in the compound were the first of the autumn, other migrants noted were a Crossbill, 1 House Martin, 33 Swallow and 90 Sand Martins all heading south. Offshore southerly passage involved 7 Oystercatcher, 16 Dunlin, 2 Redshank, 2 Turnstone, 5 Grey Plover, 4 Curlew, 9 Whimbrel, a Grey Heron and 2 Kittiwake. A Painted Lady was found at the Obs and the moth traps produced 40 Dark Sword-grass and the first Striped Wainscot for the site. Ringing; 4 Willow Warbler, 2 Greenfinch and single Dunnock & House Sparrow.
