Once the drizzle had abated it turned into a warm entertaining morning. An Egyptian Goose going south with 8 Shelduck is only the 6th site record. Hirundines got moving with 1,400+ Swallows, 250 House Martins & 40 Sand Martin south plus 40 House Martin north. Also on the move 15 Mipits with 40 on the reserve the best count of the autumn so far. Apart from the hirundines little other vis mig apparent. Out & about the site were 11 Wheatear, 6 Songies, 4 Whitethroat, 3 Lesser 'throat, 3 Blackcap, 3 Willy's, 3 Chiffs, 2 Redstart, 2 Whinchat & a Wryneck along the bank along View Point Road opposite the Butts. A Goodly gang of finch's & Starlings also on the reserve gave us plenty of birds to sort through.
