Gatekeeper, much the worse for wear

A quiet morning but with a sprinkling of new birds. A couple of willow warblers were new in, as was a control reed warbler, though this bird was British ringed and possibly from not too far away. Out to sea 2 golden and a grey plover flew south, along with 7 shelduck. A redshank flew out of the river and a fulmar was the first we've seen in weeks. A handful of hirundines went south, 8 sand martin and 7 swallows.

Straw Underwing have been few and far between in the traps this autumn.

Birds Ringed: Blackbird 1, Grey Wagtail 1, Willow Warbler 2.
