A quieter day, though still some movements of interest, with 8 grey wagtail heading south along with much better numbers of house martin passing through, totaling 91 birds. Single spotted and pied flycatchers remained in the observatory compound and the purple sandpiper on the jetty was joined by another. Also on the jetty was our earliest autumn record of rock pipit yet, by two days.

The number of Small Square-spot here has been low for years, so it's good to see that this year it has been more regular.

Birds Ringed: Blackcap 2, Chiffchaff 1, Grey Wagtail 2, Pied Flycatcher 1, Reed Warbler 1, Robin 1, Sparrowhawk 1, Willow Warbler 1.
