Breezy with drizzle until mid morning before becoming sunny. A quiet day with the only birds of note being 26 Common Scoter & a Gannet heading north and single Turnstone & Whimbrel heading south. There were also 2 Med Gulls along with 15 Common Gulls offshore.
Friday 19th July 2013
A breezy northeasterly although hot and sunny with the occasional fog bank rolling in. Viz mig offshore produced single Little Tern and Fulmar north and a Whimbrel and 2 Turnstone south. Other birds of note were 5 Med Gulls (3 adults, a juv & a 2nd summer) and a 3rd summer Yellow-legged Gull.
Ringing; 3 Greenfinch, 2 House Sparrow & 1 Wren.
Thursday 18th July 2013
A foogy start but soon clearing. There was a small passage today with 4 Swift and a Whimbrel north and 5 Teal and single Sand Martin and Stock Dove south. Amongst the terns and gulls at the Point there were 8 Med Gulls (5 adults, 2 2nd summer & a Juv) and a 1st summer Little Gull.

Wednesday 17th July 2013
Another hot muggy day. A juv Blackcap was the highlight around the compound and few birds passing, with a Swift, a Redshank, a Curlew and a sandwich Tern all south and 13 Common Scoter north. In the moth traps this morning was the first obs record of a Beautiful China-mark.

Tuesday 16th July 2013
A hot and muggy day. Viz mig produced 11 Swallow (7 north & 4 south), 2 Yellow Wagtail south and 35 Swift north. Offshore a Fulmar, a Dunlin and 1 Redshank flew south and 2 Sandwich Tern, and 4 Little Egret headed north. Also of note were our first Ringlet, Gatekeeper and Common Darters of the year.
Monday 15th July 2013
Warm & sunny start to the day. Bird wise not a lot to write home about although going south 5 Swallows, 2 Redshank, Curlew & House Martin. 2 Lapwing were on the reserve early morning. Moth traps busy although migrants almost non-existent. Good for us was a Beautiful Golden Y which is only the second site record.
Ringing: 2 Linnet, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Greenfinch, 1 Starling.
Sunday 14th July 2013
A misty start with little wind. Another quiet day with the only birds of note being a Whimbrel and 4 Common Scoter heading south and 3 adult & 2 2nd summer Med Gulls offshore.
