Hard work - situation normal. Amongst the mass of finchs, sparrows & starlings trying to avoid the 2 Sparrowhawks marauding around the site were 2 Tree Sparrows. Also on the reserve 3 Wheatears & a Yellow Wag. 277 Swallows & 5 Sand Martins went south with a Golden Plover calling continuously as it headed inland. In the moth traps 2 examples of
Aethes smeathmanniana were the first of their kind to appear since 2007.
