Weather consisted of a south south-westerly wind turning south south-easterly. It was a warm day for the time of year. Migrants observed passing through were 71 Brent Geese, 4 Shelduck, 20 Wigeon, 20 Teal, 1 Pintail, 13 Cormorant, 6 Knot, 2 Dunlin, 79 Swallow, 2 Grey Wagtail, 3 Pied Wagtail, 23 Meadow Pipit, 3 Chaffinch, 3 Siskin and 1 Reed Bunting. Grounded migrants found were 1 Whinchat and 1 Wheatear, there were also 3 Chiffchaff and 1 Lesser Whitethroat. 3 Mediterranean Gulls were recorded. 9 birds ringed today; 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Blackbird, 2 Great Tit, 3 Blue Tit, 1 Greenfinch and 1 Robin. Butterflies present included Brown Argus and Small Copper. A Western Conifer Seed Bug was found at midday, a very good record for this species as not commonly seen.
