This morning saw light easterly winds and misty conditions, which in October would almost certainly bring about a fall of tired migrants, but not today. Just a few migrant Robins, and a few warblers, along with a Pied Flycatcher and 1 Tree Pipit south. 2 Whinchat and 2 Wheatear remain on site, presumably from the weekend, whist offshore the bird of the day was a juvenile Long-tailed Skua south, just offshore early morning, and a Marsh Harrier which came out of the river then went north. The only other interesting siting was 1 Purple Sandpiper on the point.
Todays ringing total was 13 birds. 6 Robin, 2 Willow Warbler, 2 Great Tit, and 1 each of Pied Flycatcher, Blackcap and Common Whitethroat.
