Heavy cloud and virtually no wind this morning produced a great day for visual migration.

Migrants on the move, on land and out to sea today were 20 Blackbird, 8 Song Thrush, 6 Redwing, 1 Fieldfare, c.25 Robin, 22 Swallow, 5 House Martin, 1 Blackcap, 1 Chiffchaff, c.20 Goldcrest, 206 Meadow Pipit, 3 Rock Pipit, 661 Goldfinch, 94 Siskin, 71 Linnet, 46 Chaffinch, 45 Redpoll, 10 Greenfinch, 2 Brambling, 8 Reed Bunting, 12 Pied Wagtail, 4 Grey Wagtail, 18 Skylark, 11 Cormorant, 4 Brent Geese, 3 Common Scoter, 3 Shelduck, 1 Short-eared Owl, 1 Great-spotted Woodpecker, 1 Black Redstart and 1 Stock Dove.

Several Redwing about this morning with some perching up quite nicely.
Hopefully we'll have quite a few more to come over the next few days.

Ringing: 23 birds ringed this morning including 9 Lesser Redpoll, 8 Goldcrest, 2 Blackbird, 1 Wren, 1 Chaffinch, 1 Goldfinch and 1 Grey Wagtail.
