What a lovely bank holiday Monday here at the observatory. As you can see it was a little bit wild here this morning and still is.. Plenty of mobile sand out on the nature reserve! Very little of note today due to the weather.

Notable sightings today include probably the earliest record of Sandwich Tern for the Observatory early am, along with 1 Woodpigeon that arrived with us, straight in-off the sea and 14 Cormorant battling the winds with 2 Shelduck and 1 Brent Goose.

On land, 1 Firecrest, 1 Black Redstart, 1 Chiffchaff and 1 Redwing.

Ringing: No birds ringed due to the weather.
