Gorey blog today with a killer Herring Gull dismantling a baby bunny rabbit plus a dead baby Porpoise on the tideline along the riverbank (below). More passerines on the move today including southbound 15 Swallow & 4 House Martin plus on site 12 Willow Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler, Garden Warbler & Spot Fly. 8 Barnacle Geese went out then north with, rather bizarrely, another sitting on the reserve for a while ! Offshore southbound 18 Oyks, 6 Teal, 4 Whimbrel, 3 Turnstone, 3 Grey Plover, 2 Dunlin, Golden Plover, Bar-tailed Godwit & Shelduck. In the butterfly department both Clouded Yellow & Painted Lady noted today.
15 birds ringed: 8 Willow Warbler, 1 Wood Pigeon, 1 Linnet, 1 Song Thrush, 1 Great Tit, 1 Garden Warbler, 1 Reed Warbler & 1 Spotted Flycatcher.
