A slightly breezy day with a west north-westerly wind. Migrants on the move were 1 Kittiwake, 85 Swallow and 4 House Martin heading south. The highlight for the day was a Red-rumped Swallow moving south past the point at 0930hrs, unfortunately only seen by one observer! Also on the move were 3 Swift heading north. Offshore there were good numbers of terns fishing again with 68 Little and 35 Common. On the reserve a Spotted Flycatcher was found along with 2 Northern Wheatear. Warblers recorded were 5 Whitethroat, 2 Lesser Whitethroat and 1 Chiffchaff. Other birds of interest seen were 1 Crossbill, 1 Yellow Wagtail and 1 adult Med Gull. Only 2 birds ringed today; 1 Chiffchaff and 1 young Robin. Butterflies found included Green Hairstreak and Small Copper. The Weasel was seen showing well, hunting out on the reserve.
