Willow Emerald
Heavy rain first thing delayed the start of the day for a few hours but it brightened up after a while to produce a selection of typical autumnal southbound migrants; over the sea totals comprised 154 Dunlin, 2 Grey Plover, 25 Knot, single Curlew and Oystercatcher, 31 Wigeon, 13Teal, a Red-breasted Merganser, 7 Shelduck, 6 Common Scoter, a Shoveler, 20 Pintail, 33 Brent Geese, 17 Sandwich Terns, 5 Common Terns, 54 Cormorants, a Heron and one each of Guillemot and Razorbill.
Meanwhile, landbirds included 4 Woodlarks, 2 Hobbies, 3 Sparrowhawks, 17 Swallows, 10 House Martins, a Sand Martin, 32 Meadow Pipits and 4 Chaffinches.
