Barely daylight at the moment when the Cormorants head out with 1,105 this morning. Southbound 112 Knot, 19 Pintail, 8 Common Scoter, 6 Shelduck, 5 Red-throated Diver, 2 Dunlin & 2 Teal with northbound 18 Red-throats plus 90 Common Scoter sat on the sea to the north of us. No real reason for three flocks of Knot to head south in fairly quick succession at this time of the year although this species is prone to randomly change wintering estuaries for reasons unknown to us but are perfectly logical to them.
