A very quiet day today, which wasn't a surprise as the wind was fairly strong from the north. A few butterflies were in the sheltered areas. Only 2 birds ringed all day, but when one of them is an adult male firecrest, its about quality not quantity. We've only had 5 records of firecrest this year, though 4 of them were ringed, and this was the first adult.

On the far end of the scale from a 'firecrest' was the decidedly less exciting Northern Drab, even though this is just about an annual visitor so is much rarer than the bird. It's largely confined to the lower part of the Suffolk coast.

Ringing: 1 Firecrest, 1 Linnet.
