A warm day with southwesterlies. Migrants present today included 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 4 Blackcaps, 7 Yellow Wagtail (5S), 9 Swallows south, 4 Whitethroats, 9 Wheatears, a Firecrest, 16 Goldfinch south, a Redpoll, 12 Sand Martins south and a female Ring Ouzel near Butts pond. Offshore 3 Fulmars and 14 Whimbrel south along with a good number of Common Scoters (70 south & 585 north). Porpoise gave good views again with at least 3 watched in the river before they headed back out to sea.
14 birds were ringed; 4 Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Linnet and single Lesser Whitethroat, Robin, Willow Warbler, Whitethroat, Lesser Redpoll and Greenfinch.
