Recent Ringing Recoveries
Amongst the latest batch of recoveries received were details of a Robin caught here on 26th October 2012 that had been ringed 239 km away at Anttwerpen, Belgium on 13th October 2011, Chiffchaff ringed here on 20th March 2012 retrapped 104km away at Kettlestone, Norfolk on 7th April 2013, Linnet ringed here on 26th July 2012 retrapped 85km away at Caister-on-Sea, Norfolk on 20th April 2013, Whitethroat ringed here on 8th May 2011 retrapped 386km away at Howdon, Tyne & Wear on 16th June 2013, Sparrowhawk ringed here on 20th September 2012 that killed itself flying into a glass window at Trimley on 25th July 2013, Sparrowhawk ringed here 27th April 2013 flattened by a car 9 days later at Stones Green Essex plus a dose of Lesser Redpoll recoveries mostly of birds ringed here in the autumn & retrapped later in the winter inland in Suffolk (mostly in the west) but including the following more interesting ones: ringed here 30th October 2012 & retrapped 337km away at Newton, Lancashire on 11th May 2013, ringed here 30th October 2012 & retrapped 339km away at Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire on 5th May 2013, ringed here 13th October 2012 & retrapped 417km away at Lockerbie, Dunfries & Galloway on 14th May 2013. Apart from the two Sparrowhawks it is pleasing to see that all the other recoveries are of birds caught & released by other ringers.
